My approach to logo design began by incorporating hand-drawn letters with illustrations opposed to using digital typefaces. I found that this approach offered a more organic creative process with designing letterforms and a lot more freedom in how they interact with one another. This initial practice, however more experimental, gave me a much better understanding of how type should compliment and “fit together” in a final design.
